Angel Witch emerged from Kent in 1977, leading a new wave of heavy metal. Known for dark, fast riffs, they influenced extreme metal. Key figure: Kevin Heybourne. Their 1980 debut, "Angel Witch," is iconic. Reunited in 2009, they toured globally with Grand Magus, Trouble, and more.
PARADISE LOST, formed in Halifax, 1988, are gothic metal pioneers known for their diverse sound. They gained fame with Lost Paradise and Draconian Times. Celebrating 30 years of Icon, they re-recorded the album with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano.
Danish rocker King Diamond, born Kim Bendix Petersen, is famed for his multi-octave range, theatrical style, and occult themes. Rising to fame with Mercyful Fate, he launched a successful solo career with notable albums like "Abigail" and "Give Me Your Soul...Please," which got a Grammy nod. Known for his iconic face paint, he's influenced metal globally. He collaborated with Metallica's Lars Ulrich and was twice Grammy-nominated. Despite health setbacks, his 2012 comeback was a triumph, and his influence endures.
