His performances on Austin City Limits and Jimmy Kimmel Live! highlight his rise in the modern music era.
Leon Bridges, born in Fort Worth, Texas, is a Grammy-winning soul and R&B artist known for hits like "Bet Ain't Worth the Hand." Signed to Columbia Records, his debut album "Coming Home" reached the Billboard top 10. He's performed for President Obama, opened for The Rolling Stones and Harry Styles, and won a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance.
Born in Downey, CA, Dave Alvin helped shape roots rock with the Blasters and later as a solo artist. Known for his powerful style, he won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album. Collaborated with Phil Alvin, Dwight Yoakam, and Jimmie Dale Gilmore.
Jimmie Dale Gilmore, born in Tulia, Texas, is a prominent Texas singer/songwriter known for his warm tenor voice and folk-country style. Emerging from Lubbock's 1970s music scene, he co-founded the Flatlanders with Joe Ely and Butch Hancock, influencing outlaw and alt-country. Notable songs include "Dallas" and "Treat Me Like a Saturday Night." Gilmore's solo debut came in 1988, earning acclaim for works like 1991's "After Awhile." He often collaborated with Dave Alvin, releasing albums such as "Downey to Lubbock." His laid-back Austin vibe echoes the town's rich musical roots.
