Les Claypool, born in Richmond, California, is a renowned bassist, singer, and songwriter. As Primus's frontman, he's celebrated for his eccentric, funk-infused progressive rock and unique slap bass technique. Ranked among the greatest bassists, he is recognized for innovative contributions to alternative music and received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Les Claypool's Frog Brigade, formed in San Francisco in 2000, is an experimental rock project led by bassist Les Claypool. Known for its blend of funk, jazz, and progressive rock, the band gained acclaim for performing Pink Floyd's "Animals" in its entirety. Notable albums include "Purple Onion" (2002) and the award-winning "Live Frogs Set 2" (2001). The rotating lineup has featured collaborators like Sean Lennon and Harry Waters, showcasing Claypool's unique bass and improvisational style.
