Vanda Maria Ribeiro Furtado Tavares de Vasconcelos, known professionally as Lio, is a Portuguese-Belgian singer and actress who rose to prominence as a pop icon in France and Belgium during the 1980s. She achieved overnight success at age 16 with her 1979 debut synth-pop single "Le Banana Split," which sold over one million copies. Throughout her career spanning more than four decades, she has blended playful Europop with new wave and French chanson influences, released numerous studio albums including her self-titled debut and Pop Model, and maintained a prolific acting career with appearances in over 40 films.
