History and Achievements

From humble beginnings in 1982, Rev Bazil Meade founded the London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC). They have since become Europe’s leading Gospel brand and one of the most in-demand choirs across the world. They create a memorable and inspirational wall of soulful sound.

LCGC is a Guinness World Record-breaking choir that regularly graces many of the world’s greatest events such as the International FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, Glastonbury, Live 8, the World Aids Festival, and the Grammys. They are a regular feature at the Royal Albert Hall and have been dubbed by the British press as ‘the nation’s favourite choir.’

LCGC supports high-end entertainment gatherings and is actively involved in front-line humanitarian causes like Red Nose Day, Remembrance Day, Cancer Research, Amnesty International, Children in Need, and World Aids Day.

Historic Performances

A euphoric moment for LCGC was their request to sing for Queen's Platinum Jubilee on June 2nd and 5th, 2022. Over 3,000 beacons were set alight across the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, and Overseas Commonwealth countries. The London Community Gospel Choir, along with Gregory Porter, performed the official Beacons song "A Life Lived with Grace".

LCGC was invited back on June 5th to lead the National Anthem and perform two songs, ‘Keep Moving’ and ‘Sun In The Rain’. This historic, joyous experience was viewed by almost 1 billion people worldwide.

LCGC continues to illustrate their intent in breaking boundaries, sharing hope, and displaying true musical versatility, giving them the drive to grow from strength to strength.

While performing concerts, corporate bookings, recording collaborations, and media shows worldwide, LCGC is currently recording songs for a new album. Having made a total of thirteen albums, some released through major record labels, this new album promises to be the most defining to date. The yet untitled album is a message album with a narrative about peace, love, and justice. A combination of covers and original songs paints a positive picture of hope and optimism during what is considered a time of global doom and gloom. Excitement is buzzing in the atmosphere right now, to say the least.
