Iconic '60s Latino rock band from LA, Thee Midniters blended British Invasion & R&B styles. Known for "Land of a Thousand Dances," their music mixed punkish rock and soulful ballads. Influenced later acts like Los Lobos.
Los Cadetes de Linares, a pioneering norteño band from Linares, Nuevo Leon, gained fame with hits like "Dos Coronas a Mi Madre" & "Los Pistoleros Famosos." Renowned for their corridos, they've been popular since the 1970s across diverse fan bases.
Formed in San Francisco, Latin rock band Malo, led by Arcelio Garcia and Jorge Santana, is best known for the hit "Suavecito." Their fusion of soul, rock, jazz, and Latin music, produced initially by David Rubinson, captured listeners in the early '70s. Despite dwindling popularity after their debut, "Suavecito" remains a classic. Malo collaborated with various artists over decades, released several albums, and featured in a Rhino Handmade box set.
