Soul II Soul, led by Jazzie B, emerged from London in the late '80s blending hip-hop, house, and R&B. Known for hits "Keep On Movin'" and "Back to Life," the group achieved Grammy wins, international acclaim, and U.K. chart success. Featuring rotating vocalists like Caron Wheeler, they released several successful albums and singles throughout the '90s. Despite disbanding by the decade's end, Jazzie B, awarded an OBE, continues to lead reunion performances.
Horse Meat Disco, a London-based DJ collective, is renowned for revitalizing disco with global residencies in Berlin, New York, and Lisbon. Known for their creative, freewheeling style, they gained fame through residencies and collaborations with Luke Solomon. Their debut album "Love and Dancing" showcases original disco, demonstrating the genre's vibrant future.
Jayda G, a British Columbia-born, London-based DJ and Grammy-nominated producer, blends house music with social awareness. Known for emotional depth, she fuses motherhood with club culture.
Friendly Fires, from St. Albans, England, blend indie rock, shoegaze, and dance. Known for hits like "Paris," they've earned Mercury Prize nods and worked with Disclosure.
Dan Shake, UK-born DJ and producer, is renowned for his groove-driven style, blending acid, samba, funk, and house. He gained fame with Mahogani Music’s "3AM Jazz Club" and hits like "Claudia’s Trip." Known for electrifying DJ sets, he’s collaborated with Moodymann and remains a staple in global dance scenes.
Scissor Sisters, a genre-defying band from New York, blend rock, pop, and dance with influences from burlesque and drag culture. Known for their hit "Comfortably Numb," they topped UK charts with "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'." The band, featuring Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, has collaborated with Elton John, Pharrell Williams, and Calvin Harris. They've performed at Glastonbury and were Grammy-nominated for Best Dance Record.
London-born, Florida-raised Storm Mollison blends Chicago house, disco, UK garage, and breaks. Known for vocals on tracks with Mella Dee and KI/KI, she’s a rising DJ with sets at Glastonbury and Rinse FM residency.
