Mykki Blanco, born in California and raised between there and North Carolina, is a transfeminine rapper and performance artist known for audacious hip-hop inspired by pop and punk. Emerging in 2010, Blanco blends poetry, activism, and glam riot grrrl rap. Notable works include Mykki (2016), Broken Hearts and Beauty Sleep (2021), and Stay Close to Music (2022). Collaborators include Blood Orange, Big Freedia, Michael Stipe, and ANOHNI. Called "Hip-Hop's New Queen," Blanco toured with Death Grips and runs DOGFOOD Music Group.
Chicago-born rapper CupcakKe is known for her bold, explicit tracks exploring sexuality and social issues.
