Maldita Vecindad and Gondwana

Maldita Vecindad y los Hijos del Quinto Patio, formed in Mexico City in 1985, are pioneers of rock en español. Their influential sound fuses rock, ska, punk, and traditional Mexican styles like danzón and bolero, often incorporating pachuco aesthetics. Known for hits such as "Pachuco" and "Kumbala," they advocate for social causes with their motto "paz y baile." Their album "El Circo" achieved significant sales, and they have collaborated with various artists.
