Known for blending emo, alternative rock, and power pop, they gained critical acclaim with Clarity (1999) and mainstream success with the platinum album Bleed American. Collaborations include producers Mark Trombino and Butch Vig, and artists like Davey Havok. The band continued charting success with albums like Futures (2004) and Chase This Light (2007). Well-known for energetic rock anthems, they've toured with bands like Manchester Orchestra.
Seattle's Death Cab for Cutie, led by Ben Gibbard, mixes sensitive songwriting and memorable melodies. Known for hits like "Soul Meets Body" and "I Will Possess Your Heart," they gained fame with albums like "Plans" and "Narrow Stairs," achieving Grammy nominations and Billboard success. Initially a solo project, Gibbard formed the band with Chris Walla, Nick Harmer, and others. Their polished indie sound, spanning over two decades, features collaborations with talents like Yo La Tengo, David Byrne, and a major-label deal with Atlantic Records.
Formed in Chicago in 1996, Alkaline Trio, known for their dark pop-punk style, saw commercial success with albums like "Good Mourning" and "This Addiction." Notable hits include "We've Had Enough" and "Help Me." Founded by Matt Skiba, Glenn Porter, and Rob Doran, the band underwent several lineup changes, with collaborations and Split EPs with bands like Hot Water Music. Skiba took a brief hiatus to join blink-182. The band has topped rock and indie charts and released multiple albums, including the well-received "Is This Thing Cursed?"
