Detroit-born Althea Rene, daughter of Funk Brother Dezie McCullers, is a flutist known for soulful contemporary jazz and R&B. A former deputy sheriff, she gained fame with albums like "In the Flow," hitting No. 1 on the Billboard smooth jazz chart. She's graced stages worldwide including the North Sea Jazz Festival.
Brian Simpson, born in Gurnee, Illinois, is a jazz, pop, and R&B keyboardist, known for hits like "Morning Samba." He's collaborated with Dave Koz, Steve Oliver, and Boney James, among others. He co-wrote Surface's R&B hit "The First Time" and has released several Top 20 jazz albums. He has acted as musical director for Dave Koz since the late '90s and has collaborated with artists like Janet Jackson and Teena Marie.
Marion Meadows, born in West Virginia and raised in Connecticut, is a renowned American saxophonist known for his contemporary jazz and R&B style. A Berklee alum, he played with artists like Ray Charles and Phyllis Hyman. His debut "For Lovers Only" solidified his smooth jazz radio presence. Albums like "Forbidden Fruit," "Dressed to Chill," and "Soul Traveler" saw chart success. Meadows collaborates frequently, co-producing with Chris "Big Dog" Davis and others. Awards include a doctorate in music from Wilberforce University.
