Marple

The Marple Band is a traditional British brass band founded in 1900 and based in Marple, Stockport. Operating as a registered charity, the friendly, volunteer-run ensemble performs an eclectic mix of quality music for the local community and regularly enters regional and national competitions, currently competing in the Second Section of the North West area. Their historic achievements include winning the prestigious British Open Brass Band Championship in 1996 and becoming National Champions in the lower sections on multiple occasions.
