Mason Jennings' New Album

Mason Jennings, a Minneapolis-based songwriter, has an album out called Underneath The Roses on Loosegroove Records. The album, available on limited-edition colored vinyl, features the single "Only Lovers Welcome." The songs were written in a burst of creativity after the birth of his son, Western, in 2022, with Jennings penning 48 tracks in just six months. The central theme is about overcoming fear through love. Jennings also released a video for 'No Ordinary Friend,' exploring key life decisions. He worked closely with Stone Gossard (of Painted Shield and Pearl Jam) to refine the album down to 11 tracks. Underneath The Roses follows his 2022 album Real Heart, which received widespread radio play and positive press from outlets like American Songwriter and Relix. Jennings describes his latest album as musical roses that grew from a journey of self-discovery.
