ARMY

Army, born Fritzmaurice Williams on St. Croix in the Virgin Islands, began his musical journey at age five in his church's youth choir. Exploring various musical styles, he played saxophone, joined a jazz band, and sang with local groups. Influenced by legends like Nat King Cole, Dennis Brown, and Freddie McGregor, Army developed into a well-rounded artist.

He later moved to the U.S., attended New York's School of the Performing Arts, and after high school enlisted in the Army and trained in HVAC. Despite his other pursuits, music called him back. Returning to the Virgin Islands, he sang backup for the Front Line band and others. Under the mentorship of Jahole, he deepened his reggae roots and eventually became lead singer of the rising X Factor Band. His talent caught the attention of Abdul Williams (Dub Rise Records) and Dean Pond (DSP Music), who quickly signed him. Army's mission is to share positive, universal messages through his music, staying true to his values and avoiding commercial trends. With unwavering dedication, he plans to continue songwriting, study piano, and focus solely on music. The journey is far from over—Army is just getting started.

Eric is also the frontman for The Upside Ska, a high-energy ska band, and The Cheeseballs, San Francisco's premier show band renowned for their electrifying performances.

Eric's latest project, Eric Cotton and One Love Bomb, channels his Cali reggae roots with members of Rock Steady Posse, Cardiff Reefers, and Militia of Love. Together with Robert Melendez, Gregg Ichikawa, Efrain Cantu, and Steve Sagrero, Eric continues to keep California reggae alive while exploring new horizons.
