Formed in Dayton, Ohio, Brainiac innovated '90s indie rock with a synth-punk edge, led by Tim Taylor. Known for albums like "Hissing Prigs in Static Couture," their style combined futuristic electronics with raw energy. Despite early acclaim and influence on bands like Nine Inch Nails, Taylor's tragic death in 1997 cut their rise short. Their legacy lives on, celebrated in the documentary "Transmissions After Zero."
