Formed in late ’80s New York, Suffocation are innovators of brutal/technical death metal. Their 1991 debut Effigy of the Forgotten became a genre classic, followed by Breeding of the Spawn. Reformed for 2004’s Souls to Deny; Blood Oath hit Billboard.

Morbid Angel

Formed in Florida in 1983, Morbid Angel pushed death metal's limits. Known for "Altars of Madness" & "Blessed Are the Sick," they've seen many lineup changes while maintaining their core style.
