New Jersey thrash band Whiplash, known for their lineup of three Tonys—Portaro, Bono, and Scaglione—gained a cult following but limited success. Formed in 1983, they debuted with *Power & Pain* in 1985 and reunited for *Thrashback* in 1998. Scaglione briefly joined Slayer. Original bassist Tony Bono passed in 2002.

Napalm Death, formed in Meriden, England in 1981, pioneered grindcore, blending hardcore punk and death metal. Known for extreme speed, blast beats, guttural vocals, and sociopolitical lyrics, their influential albums include "Scum" and "Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism". "You Suffer" holds the Guinness World Record for shortest song. They have collaborated with artists like Melvins and are a top-selling death metal band.

British punk band the Varukers, led by Anthony "Rat" Martin, pioneered the D-beat hardcore scene with angry, political punk. Known for "One Struggle, One Fight," they influenced thrash metal and remain key UK82 punk icons.
