On Sunday, September 27th, Nigel Hall and Alex Wasily will take over the decks in the courtyard at Breezys spinning fly ish only funk, soul, and R&B of all eras. Expect everything from classic grooves to new jack swing for a proper Sunday afternoon 5pm-till.
GRAMMY-winning Soul provider Nigel Hall is an artist who needs no introduction. Throughout his career, he's built a mighty foundation of funk, onstage and in the studio, proving himself to be a true student of the music. His unique sound, built upon pages torn out of the golden-ages of R&B, establishes him as an accomplished vocalist, keyboardist, studio musician, and member of the GRAMMY-nominated funk-jazz-soul-hip-hop-psychedelic-jam-experimental titans Lettuce. Legions of fans are already well in the know about Hall's copious keyboard chops and powerful vocal style.
Alex Wasily goes by many names: A-Waz, Waz, my dawg, ya boy, the forever hang. Egyptian born, American raised, all soul, and all hang. Alex regularly performs and tours the world with Dumpstaphunk. He also leads a few different ensembles of his own, The Very Good Brass, a 15-piece fully improvised brass band with rotating drummers, and Dusk Dept. He spins vinyl DJ sets across the globe—we call them very good DJ sets, naturally.
