Sister Sledge, from North Philadelphia, rose to fame with the disco anthem "We Are Family" (1979), working with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. Known for their versatile style, they excelled in pop-R&B, Philly soul, funk, and disco. Their notable hits include "He's the Greatest Dancer" and "Lost in Music." They topped the UK charts with "Frankie" (1985) and were Grammy-nominated.
