T.S.O.L., formed in 1978 in Huntington Beach, CA, is known for blending punk and goth styles. Popular for "Nothing for You," they influenced bands like the Misfits. Faced lineup changes and genre shifts, collaborating with the Dead Kennedys and touring with bands like Guns N' Roses. Iconic in L.A.'s punk scene, their legacy includes a feature in "Suburbia" and a resurgence with 2009's "Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Free Downloads."
U.K. anarchist punk band Subhumans, formed in 1980 in Wiltshire, are known for their literate, athletic style, akin to The Clash and Crass. Popular albums include "The Day the Country Died" and "From the Cradle to the Grave." After disbanding in 1985, they reformed in 1998, releasing albums like "Internal Riot."
Pennywise, from Hermosa Beach, CA, is a legendary punk band known for their energetic anthems like "Same Old Story" and "Bro Hymn." Their sound blends subversion and celebration, capturing the essence of California and making them a staple on SoCal radio and global festivals. With members Jim Lindberg, Fletcher Dragge, Byron McMackin, and Randy Bradbury, they've collaborated with producer Cameron Webb.
