LineUp

Formed in 1983, The Escape Club achieved fame with their Grammy-nominated, #1 hit "Wild Wild West." Known for blending rock and dance beats, they hit #8 on Billboard with the ballad "I’ll Be There." Post-breakup, members Trevor Steel and John Holliday became successful UK producers. In 2010, they reunited with drummer Red Broad and bassist Johnnie Christo to record their fourth album, "Celebrity."
The Beat, formed in Birmingham in 1979, spurred the British Two Tone Ska movement with their mix of soul, reggae, pop, and punk. Known for hits and a message of love and unity, they remain influential under Dave Wakeling's lead.
New wave band A Flock Of Seagulls from Liverpool soared in the USA before the UK. Known for hits like 'I Ran' and 'Wishing.' Founded by Mike Score, they won fame despite his noted hairstyle. Reunited briefly in 2003 for VH1.
Missing Persons, formed in 1980 Los Angeles, revolutionized new wave with hits "Walking in L.A.," "Words," and "Destination Unknown." Led by Dale Bozzio's iconic vocals, the band blended pop with futuristic synths, becoming symbols of 1980s artistic freedom and innovation.
Musical Youth, formed in Birmingham, England, soared with their 1982 ska/reggae hit "Pass the Dutchie." Known for collaborations like "Unconditional Love" with Donna Summer, they split in 1985 but re-formed in 2001, performing at festivals. The band included Dennis Seaton and the Waite brothers.
NJ band Dramarama, blending hard rock, alternative, and punk, was formed in 1983 by John Easdale. Known for the hit "Anything Anything" and albums like Cinema Verite. Despite potential, they never had a major breakthrough, disbanding in 1994 but reforming in 2004.
Animotion, known for '80s synth pop hits like "Obsession" and "Room to Move," achieved early success but faced lineup changes, briefly shining before disbanding. Reunited later, focusing on nostalgic appeal.
UK New Wave band The Vapors, formed in the 70s in Surrey, soared with 1980 hit "Turning Japanese". Managed by Bruce Foxton & John Weller, they enjoyed global success before disbanding in 1982. Reunited in 2016.
