Formed in 1993, the alt-country band Old 97's merges power pop melodies with a classic country feel, led by Rhett Miller, Ken Bethea, Murry Hammond, and Philip Peeples. Gaining attention with Wreck Your Life and Too Far to Care, they remain enduring survivors of the genre.
