Formed in Texas, the alt-country band Old 97's merges power pop melodies with a classic country feel, led by singer Rhett Miller and guitarist Ken Bethea. Emerging in the 1990s with albums like Hitchhike to Rhome and Wreck Your Life, the group gained national attention with their major-label debut, Too Far to Care.
