LineUp

The Grammy-nominated Oregon Symphony, established in 1896, is the oldest orchestra on the West Coast. Renowned for its adventurous programming, it blends classical music with diverse genres like jazz, indie, and hip hop. The Symphony is celebrated for innovative community engagement and collaborations with artists such as The Decemberists, esperanza spalding, and Rick Ross. It is recognized as an Oregon 'History Maker'.
Kevin John Edusei, a German-Ghanaian conductor from Bielefeld, is acclaimed for his dramatic, insightful classical music performances. He champions an eclectic repertoire from baroque to contemporary. A 2008 Dimitri Mitropoulos Competition winner, he has led the Munich Symphony Orchestra and Konzert Theater Bern. He collaborates with ensembles like the Chineke! Orchestra and has recordings including Dvořák and Sibelius.
Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op. 44, is a three-movement orchestral composition written between 1935 and 1936 by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. It is widely recognized for its deeply expressive Russian character, cyclic structure featuring references to the plain-chant Dies irae, and a concise orchestration style that blends traditional Romantic lyricism with a sparer harmonic treatment.
