New York-area jazz guitarist Frank Vignola (born in suburban Long Island) is known for versatile styles from hard bop and swing to gypsy jazz and fusion. Leader since 1993’s Appel Direct; released Without a Doubt and 100 Years of Django.
Pasquale Grasso is a jazz guitarist praised by Pat Metheny as “the best guitar player” he’s heard. His Sony Masterworks solo EPs and albums reinterpret standards and artists like Monk, Bud Powell and Charlie Parker; 2021’s Pasquale Plays Duke features Samara Joy and Sheila Jordan.
