Jazz pianist Paul Smith played with Johnny Richards (1941), Les Paul (1946-47) and Tommy Dorsey (1947-49), then moved to Los Angeles as a studio musician. He recorded solo and with trios, worked with Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Kenton, and toured with Ella Fitzgerald (1956-78).
