Boise, Idaho indie rock band led by singer/guitarist Doug Martsch. Known for intricate, jam-friendly guitar rock and unpredictable live shows. Breakthrough with 1994’s There’s Nothing Wrong with Love; alt-rock classics Perfect from Now On and Keep It Like a Secret.
Upchuck is a band formed by lead guitarist Michael Durham with rhythm guitarist Alex “Hoff” Hoffman, bassist Armando Arrietta, drummer Chris Salado, and vocalist Kaila “KT” Thompson, whose songs address discrimination and trauma as a Black woman.
Formed in 2004 in Austin, TX, the Black Angels are a psychedelic rock band behind the Death Song LP (2017) and Wilderness of Mirrors (Partisan). They also run the long-running Levitation Festival, a key event for the psych-rock scene.
Vancouver, British Columbia-based project founded in 1995 by Dan Bejar. Known for rakish vocals and evolving indie sound, from early Bowie-esque folk to lounge pop on Kaputt (Billboard 200) and synth/spoken-word experiments on Have We Met and Labyrinthitis.
Formed in 1989 by Stockton, California friends Stephen Malkmus and Scott Kannberg, Pavement became a defining ’90s American indie rock band. Their 1992 debut Slanted & Enchanted broke through, while “Cut Your Hair” was their lone modern rock hit.
Brooklyn band A Place To Bury Strangers emerged in 2003 from Oliver Ackermann’s psychotropic vision. Often cited as “the loudest band in New York,” they’re known for vicious, destructive live shows with intense visuals and experimental sonic warfare.
Los Angeles psych-punk band Frankie and the Witch Fingers fuse proto-punk, new wave, and industrial grit. Their release Trash Classic (Greenway Records/The Reverberation Appreciation Society) follows a decade of sound-mutation and global touring with OFF! and Ty Segall.
Diles que no me maten, formed in Mexico City in 2017, crafts experimental, psychedelic, post-punk, and krautrock. Known for improvisational, jazz-tinged rock and spoken word, their sound reflects Mexico City's sensory environment. Albums include Edificio (2020), La Vida De Alguien Más (2021), Obrigaggi (2023), and Escrito en Agua. "Manos de Piedra" is a popular song. They collaborated with Mabe Fratti.
Being Dead: US duo Falcon Bitch & Gumball—catchy, unpredictable songs + tight harmonies. Known for sweethearts vibe and muscle-car restoration passion.
Population II: trio (P.-L. Gratton, T. Lacombe, S. Provençal) mixing heavy psych rock with funk, jazz, early punk energy & metal-leaning minor scales.
