Christopher Cross, born in San Antonio, TX, rose to fame in 1980 with hits like "Sailing." He won five Grammys, including Best New Artist. Known for his smooth ballads, he also snagged an Oscar for "Arthur's Theme." Collaborated with Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager, and Peter Allen. Although later albums saw less success, his impact on adult contemporary radio remains iconic.
The Doobie Brothers, formed in 1970, blend rock with soul and R&B. Known for hits like "Black Water" and "What a Fool Believes," they reunited in 2021 for a spirited album. Collaborating with John Shanks and session musicians, they highlight their distinctive voices and songwriting.
