Amanda Shaw, a New Orleans native, combines Cajun, jazz, blues, and rock influences. A talented fiddle player, she's known for appearances on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. A Louisiana Music Hall of Famer, she has nine releases and awards like the Big Easy Award for Best Female Entertainer. Shaw collaborates with producer Kent Wells, blending traditional Cajun music with modern Americana sounds.
Bonerama, a rock-oriented New Orleans brass band, was founded by trombonists Mark Mullins and Craig Klein. Known for their horn-heavy style, they cover hits by Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Their albums include "Live at the Old Point" and "Bonerama Plays Zeppelin." They have collaborated with musicians like Stanton Moore and are celebrated for their energetic live performances.
New York-born Billy Iuso founded jam-funk band Brides of Jesus, toured with top jam bands, and settled in New Orleans, leading Billy Iuso and Restless Natives with 11 albums.
Louisiana-born Tyron Benoit blends rock, country, soul, and Cajun influences. A former Marine, he played with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and leads gigs with an all-star band.
Better Than Ezra, formed in 1988 by LSU students, blends '80s jangle pop with grunge. Known for "Good," they achieved platinum status in 1995. Hits like "In the Blood" and "King of New Orleans" followed. They moved from major to indie labels, collaborating with Tony Hoffer. Celebrated anniversaries with reissues and continue to tour and record.
Tank and the Bangas, from New Orleans, blend quirky raps, poetry, and rich melodies. They gained fame after winning the NPR Tiny Desk Contest in 2017. Known for viral performances praised by artists like Miguel and Anthony Hamilton, they collaborate with producers like James Poyser and Robert Glasper. Their distinct style shines in the album "The Heart, The Mind, and The Soul."
Terrance Simien, born in Eunice, LA, is a key Zydeco vocalist and accordionist known for mixing R&B, funk, gospel, and reggae. Collaborated with Paul Simon and featured in "The Big Easy."
