Alice Gerrard

American folk singer, instrumentalist, author, and educator Alice Gerrard helped revive old-time music via landmark collabs with Hazel Dickens, including Hazel & Alice (1973). Her album Follow the Music (2014) earned a GRAMMY nod. Co-founded Old-Time Herald.

PineCone

PineCone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, originated in Raleigh, NC, in 1984. Founded by Wayne and Margaret Martin, Ron Raxter, and Beverly Young, it preserves, presents, and promotes traditional folk music and dance, including bluegrass and old-time. Known for its concert series, jams, workshops, youth programs, and the Raleigh Wide Open festival, PineCone celebrates roots music.
