Balsam Range is a bluegrass group celebrating 18 years together, featuring Caleb Smith, Tim Surett, Alan Bibey, and Marc Pruett. Known for a “high lonesome sound,” their shows have featured Kentucky native Don Rigsby on fiddle and vocals.

PineCone

PineCone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, originated in Raleigh, NC, in 1984. Founded by Wayne and Margaret Martin, Ron Raxter, and Beverly Young, it preserves, presents, and promotes traditional folk music and dance, including bluegrass and old-time. Known for its concert series, jams, workshops, youth programs, and the Raleigh Wide Open festival, PineCone celebrates roots music.
