The Red Clay Ramblers

Red Clay Ramblers, from Chapel Hill, NC, are known for their authentic blend of Appalachian folk, contemporary compositions, and genre-mixing. This quintet gained fame through off-Broadway shows, notably scoring Sam Shepard's "A Lie of the Mind." Members include Tommy Thompson, Jim Watson, Mike Craver, Jack Herrick, and Clay Buckner.

PineCone

PineCone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, originated in Raleigh, NC, in 1984. Founded by Wayne and Margaret Martin, Ron Raxter, and Beverly Young, it preserves, presents, and promotes traditional folk music and dance, including bluegrass and old-time. Known for its concert series, jams, workshops, youth programs, and the Raleigh Wide Open festival, PineCone celebrates roots music.
