Formed in El Sobrante, California in 1984, Primus is a weird, experimental post-punk/art-rock trio led by bassist Les Claypool. Sailing the Seas of Cheese (1991) broke through with “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver”; Pork Soda went platinum.
Les Claypool, born in Richmond, California, is a renowned bassist, singer, and songwriter. As Primus's frontman, he's celebrated for his eccentric, funk-infused progressive rock and unique slap bass technique. His work includes popular songs like "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" and projects such as Oysterhead and The Claypool Lennon Delirium. Ranked among the greatest bassists, he is recognized for innovative contributions to alternative music and received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Claypool Lennon Delirium is an American rock band formed in 2015, a collaboration between Les Claypool (Primus) and Sean Ono Lennon. Known for their "progadelic" style, blending psychedelic and progressive rock with surreal lyricism. Notable albums include "Monolith of Phobos," "South of Reality," and the concept album "The Great Parrot-Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy" featuring Willow. They are celebrated for intricate musicianship and genre-defying sound.
