Atlanta Rhythm Section, from Doraville, Georgia, was a Southern rock band known for their radio-friendly style. They scored hits with "So Into You" and "Imaginary Lover." Managed by Buddy Buie, they reached their peak with the 1978 album Champagne Jam. The group performed at the White House and collaborated with artists like Travis Tritt and Wynonna Judd.
Pure Prairie League, formed in the mid-Sixties in Ohio, is known for pioneering country-rock. Featuring pedal steel innovator John David Call, the band's sound blends nostalgic warmth with modern energy.
Firefall, born from deep musical roots, is known for their melodic, country-flavored rock. Hits like "You Are the Woman" and collaborations with Fleetwood Mac highlight their legacy.
Richie Furay, born in Yellow Springs, Ohio, co-founded Buffalo Springfield and Poco, pioneering country rock. Known for warm vocals and sturdy guitar, he penned hits like "Kind Woman" and "Fallin' In Love." He also formed the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band. Furay became a devoted Christian, releasing solo albums reflecting his faith. He reunited with Poco for the successful 1989 album *Legacy*. Cameos by Neil Young and Stephen Stills marked key moments in his career, along with a notable celebration of Poco's legacy at L.A.'s Troubadour.
