Hartford-born Dezron Douglas, a bassist and educator, is known for his creative music and collaborations with Pharoah Sanders, Ravi Coltrane, and Brandee Younger. A 2019 Rising Star by Downbeat Magazine, he co-created the acclaimed album "Force Majeure" during the 2020 lockdown and joined Trey Anastasio’s band in 2021. Douglas, who produced Younger’s Grammy-nominated album, is also part of NYU's Jazz Studies faculty.

Emerging in the '90s, he's collaborated with Steve Coleman's M-Base and toured with Elvin Jones. Albums like "In Flux" and "Spirit Fiction" highlight his distinctive sound, earning Grammy nods. He produced Alice Coltrane's "Translinear Light" and co-founded a trio with Jack DeJohnette, showcasing his exploratory jazz approach.
