Andrew Roachford, born in the UK, is famed for his hit "Cuddly Toy" and his rock-soul style. With 10 albums and an MBE for music, he's toured with Terence Trent D'Arby and records with Mike + the Mechanics.
Heaven 17, a UK techno-pop trio, formed by Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, emerged from the British Electric Foundation, featuring Glenn Gregory on vocals. Known for hits like "Temptation," they collaborated with artists such as Tina Turner. The band achieved fame with albums "Penthouse and Pavement" and "The Luxury Gap." After early success, they disbanded in 1988 but reformed in the '90s, continuing with Ware and Gregory.
Holly Johnson, born in Liverpool, rose to fame as frontman of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, known for hits like "Relax" and "The Power of Love." After a legal battle for artistic freedom, he launched a solo career with chart-topping "Blast." An openly gay artist, he detailed contracting HIV in his autobiography. Also a painter, he launched his label Pleasuredome and released several albums, including "Soulstream" and "Europa." Collaborated with Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper.
Led by Pauline Black OBE, the Selecter are ska legends known for hits like “Three Minute Hero” and “Too Much Pressure.” Celebrated for their 2-Tone sound and era-defining impact.
Born in Glasgow, Midge Ure is a key figure in the new wave scene, known for his work with Ultravox and Visage. He also achieved success as a solo artist with hits like "If I Was." Ure co-wrote Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?" with Bob Geldof, leading to his recognition as an OBE. He collaborated with artists like Moby and Ty Unwin and worked on projects like Live Aid and Live 8. Ure's autobiography, tours, and orchestral reworkings highlight his lasting influence and versatility in the music industry.
Chesney Hawkes, born in Windsor, delivers heartfelt pop-rock in "Living Arrows," co-written with Nik Kershaw and produced by Jake Gosling. Hits include "LOUD!" and "Live Forever."
