It celebrates the best of '80s music, new wave, and retro pop, featuring iconic artists known for hits like "She Blinded Me With Science" and "I Ran (So Far Away)." The festival is recognized as a premier '80s party, bringing together legendary acts.
Berkeley, California singer Martha Davis joined The Warfield Foxes in 1971; the band moved to Los Angeles and became The Motels. Signed to Capitol in 1979, they released five albums, earned two gold records, and scored Top 10 hits “Only the Lonely” and “Suddenly Last Summer.”
LA synth-pop/new wave band Animotion blends electronic + rock; best known for “Obsession” (Billboard Hot 100 Top 10), “Let Him Go,” “I Engineer,” “Room to Move.”
New wave electro-pop/synth-pop pioneers Men Without Hats are led by founding members Ivan and Colin Doroschuk, with Sho Murray since 2016. Best known for The Safety Dance and Pop Goes The World, both inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Haircut 100 scored four UK Top 10 hits—Love Plus One, Fantastic Day, Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl) and Nobody’s Fool—and their debut album Pelican West hit #2, spent 11 weeks in the Top 10 and went Platinum.
UK-born rock band blending dance beats; broke worldwide with Grammy-nominated #1 “Wild Wild West.” Also “Shake for the Sheikh” (Billboard #28), “I’ll Be There” (#8).
British dance-pop trio Right Said Fred, formed by Sussex-born brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass with Rob Manzoli, is best known for the 1992 U.S. chart-topping hit "I'm Too Sexy." Known for their catchy, campy style, they achieved U.K. hits with tracks like "Don't Talk Just Kiss" and "Deeply Dippy." They shifted focus to Germany, finding success with albums "Fredhead" and "Stand Up." Also known for collaborations with Nena, their music reflects a humorous take on pop culture.
The Tubes, formed in Phoenix, Arizona, were known for satirical, theatrical rock shows with characters like Quay Lewd. Hits include "White Punks on Dope" and "She's a Beauty." Collaborated with Todd Rundgren and achieved success with "Completion Backwards Principle." Reunited in 1993 and continued touring, despite various breakups.
