Shock rock pioneer Alice Cooper (born Vincent Furnier) rose in the ’70s with gritty, theatrical hard rock and horror-themed shows. Breakthrough came with “I’m Eighteen” and Love It to Death; School’s Out and Billion Dollar Babies hit No. 1.
Richard Patrick formed Filter after touring as Nine Inch Nails’ guitarist. Filter’s debut Short Bus went platinum with “Hey Man Nice Shot,” followed by platinum Title of Record featuring “Take a Picture,” and albums including The Amalgamut and Crazy Eyes.
Formed in Chicago in 1981 by Al Jourgensen, industrial pioneer Ministry evolved from synth-pop to a harsher sound on albums like Twitch, The Land of Rape and Honey and Psalm 69. The band earned six Grammy nominations and has released 16 studio albums.
Rob Zombie rose to fame in multi-platinum band White Zombie and later as a solo artist. Known for his Hellbilly sound, he earned multi-platinum/gold albums including Hellbilly Deluxe, The Sinister Urge and Educated Horses. Lunar Injection Kool Aid (2021) hit #9 Billboard 200.
