Born in Ferndale, MI, Ron Carter is a jazz icon and world-class bassist celebrated for his role in Miles Davis' quintet and numerous collaborations. Known for his acoustic prowess, Carter has performed with symphonies worldwide, released albums like "Piccolo" and "Ron Carter's Great Big Band," and won three Grammys, including for "Call Sheet Blues." He's one of the most recorded bassists, having worked with Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams, and many others, and even features in the 2022 PBS documentary "Finding the Right Notes."
New Orleans-born saxophonist Donald Harrison blends post-bop, traditional jazz, and R&B. Known for "Nouveau Swing," he’s Big Chief of the Congo Square Nation and plays with the Cookers, Headhunters, and Eddie Henderson. Collaborated with Terence Blanchard, Dr. John, and more.

Beginning his career in the 1960s with Jaki Byard and Eric Dolphy, Cannonball Adderley, and a five year stint with the Miles Davis Quintet, Ron also performed and recorded with notables including Bill Evans, B.B. King, and Dexter Gordon.
