Born in Crailsheim, Germany, clarinetist Sabine Meyer is renowned for her solo work, genre-spanning recordings, and key collaborations. Early in her career, she joined the Berlin Philharmonic, breaking gender barriers. She formed the Clarone Trio and the Bläserensemble Sabine Meyer, collaborating with artists like Eddie Daniels and the Tokyo String Quartet. Meyer's recordings have won eight ECHO Klassik awards. An esteemed educator, she teaches at Lübeck Academy and has inspired many successful pupils. Notable honors include the Chevalier de Arts et des Lettres and the Officer's Cross.
Germany-based Alliage Quintet blends four saxophones and piano in symphonic style. Led by Canadian Daniel Gauthier, they’ve recorded five albums, toured globally, and worked with violinist József Lendvay and cellist Alban Gerhardt.
