Loverboy, formed in 1979 in Calgary, became a top rock band of the 1980s with hits like "Working for the Weekend." Sammy Hagar, the Red Rocker, rose to fame with Montrose before a solo career, hitting platinum with "Standing Hampton." He joined Van Halen in 1986, leading to multi-platinum success. Post-Van Halen, he formed bands like Chickenfoot with Joe Satriani and Michael Anthony, and The Circle, collaborating with various artists.
