Gennaro Amatore, known professionally as Samurai Jay, is an Italian rapper and singer-songwriter born in 1998 in Mugnano di Napoli. He emerged in the urban music scene with his 2018 debut EP Promesse and gained widespread recognition in 2019 with singles like "Gang" (featuring Geolier), which was certified gold. Blending trap, R&B, and Latin influences, he released his debut studio album, Lacrime, in 2020 and followed with the EP Respira in 2022. He achieved further commercial success with his viral 2025 single "Halo" and competed in the Sanremo Music Festival 2026 with the song "Ossessione."
