Taiwan-born, Australia-raised violinist Ray Chen is known for his vibrant style and virtuosity. Winning the Yehudi Menuhin and Queen Elisabeth Competitions, he's collaborated with the Mariinsky Orchestra and Christoph Eschenbach. His albums, including "Virtuoso" and "The Golden Age," feature concertos by Mozart and Tchaikovsky, earning acclaim for his work with Sony Classical and Decca. Performing on the 1715 "Joachim" Stradivarius, Chen is a prominent figure in the classical music world.
James Gaffigan is an American conductor born in New York City, known for his work with symphony orchestras and opera. He won the 2004 Sir Georg Solti International Conducting Competition. Gaffigan has held positions with the San Francisco Symphony and Cleveland Orchestra, and serves as General Music Director of Komische Oper Berlin and Music Director of the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra. He is also Music Director Designate for Houston Grand Opera.
