LineUp

Symphony No. 4 in G major by Gustav Mahler was composed between 1899 and 1900. It is the shortest and most lightly scored of his early symphonies, built around the 1892 song Das himmlische Leben, which presents a child's vision of heaven sung by a soprano soloist in the final movement.
Gustav Mahler, born in Bohemia, was an Austro-Bohemian Romantic composer and conductor. He crafted expansive, deeply expressive symphonies and song cycles, bridging 19th-century Romanticism with 20th-century modernism. Known for innovative orchestration and emotional depth, his celebrated works include Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection" and Symphony No. 8 "Symphony of a Thousand".
The Seattle Symphony, founded in 1903, is an internationally acclaimed classical orchestra based in Seattle. Known for its inventive programming, commitment to new music, and extensive recording history with over 150 albums, the Symphony has garnered five Grammy Awards, two Emmy Awards, and was named Gramophone's 2018 Orchestra of the Year. It is recognized for diverse collaborations and its vital role in the Pacific Northwest cultural scene.
