Emerging from New York City's mid-1980s hardcore scene, Murphy's Law blends skatepunk and metal. Fronted by vocalist Jimmy Gestapo, the group released their self-titled debut in 1986, followed by albums like Back with a Bong! and Dedicated.

Sheer Terror

Formed in 1984, Sheer Terror was a linchpin of the New York hardcore and crossover scenes. Merging punk with heavy metal, the band released their seminal 1989 album Just Can't Hate Enough. Following lineup changes and a split in 1998, they reunited in 2004 and later released Standing Up for Falling Down in 2014.
