Whiplash with Hirax and Sodom

New Jersey thrash metal band Whiplash formed in 1983. Signed to Roadrunner, they released Power & Pain (1985) and Ticket to Mayhem (1986), followed by Insult to Injury (1990) and Thrashback (1998). Drummer Tony Scaglione briefly filled in for Slayer.

Hirax, from Buena Park, CA, formed in 1984, is a notable thrash metal band led by Katon W. DePena. Known for high-pitched vocals and short, hardcore-influenced songs, they released key albums like "Raging Violence" and "Hate, Fear and Power". Despite early struggles, their cult following grew. Collaborations include Scott Owen, Ron McGovney, and former D.R.I. drummer Eric Brecht. Revived in 2000, they released "The New Age of Terror" in 2004, solidifying their place in speed and thrash metal history.

German thrash metal band Sodom, founded in 1981, Gelsenkirchen, is part of the "Big Four" alongside Kreator, Tankard, Destruction. Known for albums like 'Persecution Mania' and 'Agent Orange.' Influenced by NWOBHM and bands like Venom, they evolved their sound incorporating death and groove metal elements. Renowned for enduring lineup changes with Tom Angelripper as the constant member.
