LineUp

Incognito, founded in 1979 by Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick, is an influential acid jazz project from the Brit-funk scene. Notable for hits like "Always There," they've collaborated with artists like Jocelyn Brown, Maysa Leak, and Chaka Khan. Known for modernizing '70s soul and funk, they have 15 UK pop chart singles and numerous US jazz chart successes.
Shalamar, born from "Soul Train," became a US dance music sensation with hits like "The Second Time Around." The classic trio—Howard Hewett, Jody Watley, and Jeffrey Daniel—earned four Gold albums. Later, with line-up changes, they hit the US Top 20 with "Dancing in the Sheets." Reformed in 1999, they tour frequently. Known for their catchy mix of funk, disco, R&B, and pop, they released "The Real Thing" in 2017, produced by Leon Sylvers.
Formed in 1970 in Toxteth, Liverpool, The Real Thing is Britain’s longest-established soul band. Known for hits like "You To Me Are Everything," they remain the UK's most successful black group. Dubbed "The Black Beatles," their distinct sound captivated fans. A 2019 documentary, “Everything – The Real Thing Story,” highlighted their career.
Shakatak, a London-born crossover jazz, funk, and pop band, formed in 1980. Known for hits like "Easier Said Than Done", they collaborated with Al Jarreau. The band gained international success with instrumental albums in Japan and topped Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart with "Open Your Eyes". Their lineup includes Bill Sharpe, Roger Odell, Jill Saward, and George Anderson.
