Born in Spijkenisse, Erik de Jong, aka Spinvis, debuted in 2002 with a self-titled album and quickly gained acclaim. Known for his lo-fi, storytelling style, he won the Annie M.G. Schmidt award in 2004 and the Dutch Popprijs in 2007. His hits include "Ik Wil Alleen Maar Zwemmen" and collaborated with Simon Vinkenoog.
