Founded in 1986 in Bozeman, Steel Pole Bath Tub was a noise rock trio known for fuzzy bass riffs, guitar feedback, and pop-culture dialogue samples. Relocated to Seattle then San Francisco, collaborated with Jello Biafra, successful albums include "Tulip" and "The Miracle of Sound in Motion," briefly signed to major label Slash Records.
Alice Donut, formed in 1987 in NYC's Lower East Side, is known for its punk style with country and funk elements. Signed by Jello Biafra to Alternative Tentacles, they released six albums before breaking up in 1995. They reunited in 2003, releasing new music like "Fuzz" and a live DVD. Their 25th anniversary celebrated with the documentary "Freaks in Love."
