Celebrating 25 years of music in America! Stphane Wrembel will explore every aspect of the guitar, from the most intimate and intricate sounds to the most explosive and virtuosic possibilities. He brought to America the distinctive style of Django Reinhardt, pioneering what is now known as Gypsy Jazz. Beyond his mastery of this tradition, he has integrated the vernacular genres of American and world music from jazz and rock to the sounds of India and Africa, and the haunting, mysterious tones of the Middle Eastern oud. Over four nights you'll experience the full spectrum of his unique musical universe.

Oct. 19 The Django Experiment (Quintet)

The Django Experiment is the name of the band, a six‑album series, and the concept behind this show. The repertoire is drawn entirely from the albums, giving Django Reinhardt's standards a new twist infused with the musicians' long experience in New York City. Grounded in Gypsy Jazz yet incorporating many influences, it offers a unique and exciting approach to Django's music.
